School makes me tired of life [Nov. 5th, 2008|08:58 pm]
Robin
Let me attempt to remember anything significant since the last post...

1. I'm $10 richer, HAHA! Only Katie and Sten get that.

2. My life has basically become classes and work, which sucks. What sucks even more is that it's November and it still rains every weekend. Hello, Florida, rainy/hurricane season is supposed to be over! Like this weekend was the first time we all went out....like since we came back here.

3. However, we totally made up for it by hitting up DISNEY during fall break! It was my first time (yea yea shocked faces galore) and it was such a blast. We got to all four parks and rode all the important rides. I got my ears and ate lots of Mickey ice cream bars. Dreams do come true!

4. The grad school process has (basically) begun, ack! GREs, SoPs, GPAs, fuck!

5. Let's talk about my semester of hell come January - Orgo (with lab), Chemical oceanography (with lab), genetics, marine mammals, readings in marine science. And my credits from my internship. So while I'll be taking 16 credits, I'll look like I took 18.

6. I'm not too fond of my electives anymore. OK I lie, who doesn't love the history of sexuality? But now I'm just constantly (well, should be constantly) reading for philosophy and histry, when I'd rather study for orgo or cell molec (well, rather as in I'd like to pass both classes)

7. Can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving! I need the break!

8. I'll just say: OBAMA! That's all

9. I can't wait for the rain to stop so we can hit the beach...blah1

OK, here's my new update on what's been going on this summer.

1. I've been at the aquarium in Baltimore since after Memorial weekend. While the commute is a pain in my ass (I can't wait for the day I can afford my own car!) I love it up there so much. Everyone in the education department makes me fall over laughing, which is helpful when you're working with ignorant people all day. Another annoying thing - the 10 page paper I have to write on the internship. I'm not disciplined enough right now to write a whole paper.

2. Back at the Council office downtown. It's not as fun anymore, it's really slow-paced compared to the aquarium. But it's money. Hey, at least I'm excellent at dealing with pissed off residents over the phone. But between the job and the internship, I'm always exhausted and half the time I'm asleep by 10 or 11. Sad, I know.

3. Yet I still have plenty of time to see people, which has been really enjoyable. Highlight so far - going to a gay club with Allison. Unfortunately there were still creepy straight guys, vom. The whole Tysons trip with James and Meaghan is a close second. Oh, and drunk Uno with Anna and Yanhom. My next goal is to convince someone to accompany me to the only lesbian bar in the entire damn city in SE...which has lead me to a new conclusion - I need more GLBT friends.

4. As always, I'm already bored with being home and waiting for my return to Florida.

5. As always (again), the relationship forecast is unchanged.

And that's about it.

I don't even know what to say anymore. I might end up deleting this journal soon. My whole purpose of getting it was to have somewhere to vent and work out whatever crazy shit is going on in my head. But after what.....3 years? it hasn't worked. I'm as mental and miserable as before, and I won't ever get better. I shouldn't have left home; I'm not stable enough to handle life on my own. And people can go ahead and judge all they want because I'm done caring, I'm done with emotions. At least when I have no emotions I don't cry all the time. So this may (possibly) be my last post ever. We'll see what kind of mood I'm in in a couple of days.

Fun Stuff [Apr. 23rd, 2007|01:01 am]

Ha, this should be Katie.
You are a Brainy Girl!

Whether you're an official student or a casual learner, you enjoy hitting the books.
You know a little bit about everything, and you're always dying to know more.
For a guy to win your heart, he's got to share some of your intellectual interests.
A awesome book collection of his own doesn't hurt either!

Your Lucky Underwear is Blue

You are caring and extroverted. You've made relationships your number one focus, and your lucky blue underwear can bring some balance to them.
You thrive in one-on-one situations. You are a good listener and a natural born therapist.

Sometimes you let the concerns of others become too important in your life, leading to stress and worry.
If you want more balance, put on your blue underpants. They'll help you take care of yourself first.

You Belong in New York City

You're the energetic, ambitious type.
And only NYC is fast enough for you.
Maybe you'll set yourself up with a killer career
Or simply take in all the city has to offer.

Had an alright day. Skipped Biology because I'm in a not caring mood, seems to be my overall mood really. If I don't care, I don't stress out, no one can hurt me, and it seems to be working decently well. Skipped Math yesterday too. Again, just don't care anymore. This place seems to have sucked the passion right out of me.

Sucks that it means letting go of any emotion towards anything. I don't really like not caring, but whatever keeps me protected.

Anyways, went to lunch, told Amanda about another dream I had last night. I don't actually remember it, I just have some inkling that it was sexual once again because I woke up thinking "What the fuck I'm getting so tired of this." So Amanda feels I am in some serious need of action, which kinda sucks because my conscious state is completely fine with my present state, but apparently my subconscious seriously disagrees.

Moving on, went to Spanish only because Angulo takes attendance and I had to turn in a composition. It was actually kinda fun today, as hard as it is to believe that. So then...had Biology Workshop. Once again, completely unnecessary and passion-draining, but at least "Bio Cop" didn't show up. So then had dinner with Katie and then played some IM volleyball. We won our first match by forfeit (not so much fun :/) and won the second match by two games. That one was so much fun. I played so much better than I ever have, I think because there wasn't the same pressure as there is on an actual team. I didn't have the same anxiety that I used to have - everything just flowed, I just somehow knew what to do, and when I did mess up I didn't kick myself for it; I laughed and I got ready for the next play. I've never had so much fun playing in my entire life - playing tonight reminded me why I love this sport. I even had time to go to PPP with Katie which was actually really fun.

Cleaning Up the Friends List [Dec. 17th, 2006|11:20 pm]
Robin
[Dancing to/Watching |Dani California - Red Hot Chili Peppers]

I see this as an extention of cleaning up the people in my life.

YOU HAVE UNTIL AFTHER CHRISTMAS (DEC. 26) TO REPLY TO THIS ENTRY OR YOU'RE OFF THE FRIENDS LIST.

There are obviously people who comment regularly or who I know personally, so you guys are safe.

Tomorrow is my grandma's birthday, so Happy Birthday Grandma!

There's a giant menorah on the Ellipse that's lit on every night of Hanukkah. I never knew that. I literally just saw it on the news.

I have "Dani California" stuck in my head. It's not even that great of a song. I don't even understand what the fuck it's about!

It's gonna be almost 70 tomorrow. I did leave Miami, right?

"You Must Obey the Dance Commander" [Dec. 15th, 2006|01:59 am]
Robin
[Dancing to/Watching |Electric Six - Dance Commander]

So I was randomly wondering.....if I did have a sex shrine in my room, who would be on it?

Katherine Moenning (she can have the entire fucking wall)
Ellen Degeneres (don't hate)
Shakira (obviously)
Deigo Luna (the only Latino to ever make me drool)
Tom Felton (with long hair!)

maybe Ziyi Zhang, she's more gorgeous than hot though. And Parminder Nagra. OK Parminder Nagra goe on the sex shrine. If I had to be Asian I'd be her in a heartbeat!

Listened to Dance Commander about 20 times. I'm getting it whenever I get ITunes money.

I sent a comment to Fruit of the Loom asking what the hell the yellow thing is.

Going to St. John's with Allison on Monday or Tuesday. Yippee!
